Fair Trade Month

785-Fair-TradeIt’s October and you know what that means…Halloween, trick-or-treating, and Fair Trade month all bundled together in one month.

This October is the 11th annual Fair Trade Month. Throughout this month, consciously-minded consumers, retailers, artisans, and brands unite together to celebrate and promote fair trade. This month is about increasing awareness and sales of fair trade certified products, ultimately leading to a greater support for farmers and artisans in developing countries.

chocolateWe know you believe that fair trade is a great way to improve the lives of artisans and workers in developing countries. Take the fair trade month pledge and make your support known to your friends, family, and community.

nutsThrough fair trade purchases, we are supporting self-sustainability in developing countries through a “hand-up” vs. a “hand-out.” With every dollar spent on fair trade items, you are showing your support for fair wage and your commitment to making the world a better place for all its inhabitants. This month we are asking our customers to take the pledge and become a fair trade fan on Facebook.

You can do this by clicking here and like us on Facebook. This will allow consumers to stay up-to-date on the latest trends and news in the fair trade world. It will be a great way for us to communicate to our consumers and for us to receive feedback from our consumers about their use of our fair trade products. If you are a Twitter-er follow @1W0rldProjects news from the #FairTrade community and see new products we share with the fair trade community.

ilThis month is also about fair education and a great way to educate your family, friends, and community is by giving the gift of fair trade. Help them to understand why every purchase matters and why artisans in the developing world need their support. These moments are best created with a fair trade with Halloween just around the corner it’s a great month to share our chocolates from Peru, roasted nuts from Brazil, or with a new tasty and healthy way to cook, dress salads, and dip breads with organic brazil nut oil from Peru (can also be used as a moisturizer that leaves your skin and hair feeling silky smooth). You can present these items this Halloween and share the knowledge of fair trade with you family, friends, and community.
